$1M In Cash Up For Grabs At Local Casino
November 4, 2010
Valley View Casino & Hotel near Valley Center unveiled a pile of $100 bills near
the front entrance of their casino Thursday.
The pile is exactly $1million, and for anyone who is not a banker, it's a sight
to behold.
"I wish I could win that million dollars," said Oceanside resident Gloria Bertholf.
Valley View put the money on display to promote its "Colossal Coin Jackpot." Anyone
with a Players Club card can win the cash in one lump sum by playing any one of
the casino's 2,000 slot machines.
"Any penny machine, nickel machine, quarter machine, dollar machine," said Valley
View Casino & Hotel General Manager Bruce Howard.
Valley View Casino & Hotel is also making news for the last part of its title --
their luxury suite hotel is scheduled to open November 19.
"We felt that there was a definite need in this area for a great luxury property,"
said Valley View Casino & Hotel Vice President of Marketing Ric Militi.
The hotel cost more than $80 million to construct and increased the number of jobs
at Valley View by 5 percent.
On top of the $1 million pile of cash and the new hotel, Valley View Casino & Hotel
will also host the new Michael Jackson Cirque du Soleil show in 2012. Tickets for
the show go on sale this weekend, more than a year in advance of its opening.
